In collaboration with the Swiss Chemical Society

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 7th Molecular Quantum Mechanics (MQM) congress to be held in Lugano (Switzerland) in June 2013.

The MQM congresses are focused on theory and method development in molecular quantum mechanics. It is part of the tradition to dedicate the event to a major contributor in this area of science. The MQM 2013 will be to the honor of Professor Rodney (“Rod”) Bartlett of the Quantum Theory Project of the University of Florida. Rod Bartlett will be honored for his seminal contributions towards the treatment of electron correlation.

Lugano and the Lugano Convention Center were the location of the WATOC 2002 Congress. ETH Zürich and the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) are pleased to be hosting another major congress in this area of science.

The MQM 2013 offers a great opportunity for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and senior scientists from both, academia and industry, to share and exchange the results of their research and to establish contact to the leaders in the field.

In order to make the attendance of the MQM 2013 affordable also to participants on a smaller budget, we spent an effort to keep the expenses low. The Early bird registration fee was set to CHF 300 (EUR 250, USD 325 approximately). In addition we offer low cost accommodation for our young participants (see Accommodation).

We invite you to submit scientific contributions in all fields of molecular quantum mechanics, electronic structure theory and computational chemistry. From the submissions received, the Organizing Committee will select papers to be presented as oral contributions.

We hope that this opportunity to present and discuss science will interest you, and we look forward to seeing you in beautiful Lugano!

Dr. Hans P. Lüthi

ETH Zürich, Chairman Organizing Committee

Prof. Piero Martinoli

President, Università della Svizzera italiana, USI
